NITRO WUMPUS

ROLE: CHARACTER DESIGN
In 2025, I teamed up with Discord to help design a refreshed version of their mascot, Wumpus. This update was part of the rebrand for their premium subscription service, Nitro. My role involved concepting a range of spacesuit designs and creating a fully rigged 3D model. The model was designed for branding/marketing visuals, with the flexibility to support future animations.

POSES
We created a variety of poses and expressions for Nitro Wumpus, allowing designers to easily use the character across different marketing and branding materials.
2D TURN AROUND / VECTOR
A 2D turnaround of the Nitro Wumpus design was developed as a reference tool, ensuring consistency for illustrators when creating new illustrated interpretations of the character.
DESIGN EXPLORATIONS
During the development of Nitro Wumpus, we explored a variety of suit designs and propulsion ideas, from huge, oversized engines to sleek laser-powered wings. In the end, we settled on a design that felt playful and exaggerated, but still practical enough to pose the character in lots of fun ways.
